LEAGUE/EQUAL! Current and Former Members:
You are invited to the LEAGUE/EQUAL! 20 Year
Anniversary Celebration and Reunion in Washington, D.C. on September 28-30. The Reunion
committee's goal is for this to be a weekend where we all have a boat load of fun
reconnecting with old friends. We are keeping it simple, inexpensive, and informal
with lots of opportunities for hanging out and catching up with each other. We're
looking forward to seeing all our friends (old and new) currently or formerly with
LEAGUE/EQUAL! from AT&T, Agere, Alcatel-Lucent, Avaya, Lucent Technologies, and NCR.
Here's the plan for the weekend. Please go to the "Reply Here"section in the evite that you
received to let us know the specific events in blue font below that you will be attending or send e-mail to ryk@alcatel-lucent.com with info on which ones
you will be attending and he'll update evite for you.
- Friday
- 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM: Welcome Reception
at home of Jeffrey Brooke and Christopher Sheppard, 1523 "O" Street NW, between
15th and 16th Streets NW. Their phone number is 202-332-2183. Metro stops nearby....Blue/Orange Line MacPherson
Square...White House exit leaves you on 15th and I Street. Walk up 15th until you get to
"O" Street. Food and drink: white
wine....soft drinks....beer....finger foods.

- 10:00 AM: Meet at the Washington Zoo
accessible via the METRO Red Line Woodley Park/Zoo station. The zoo is a short walk from
the station. We will visit the zoo and possibly have a special tour. Meet at the entrance
at 10:00 AM. in front of the
National Zoo main entrance on Connecticut Avenue. This being DC, admission to the Zoo as
part of the Smithsonian Institution is free.
- Afternoon...on your own
- 4:30 PM: Meet outside Union Train Station (also on the Red Line Metro
Union Station Stop) for a 2.5 hour double decker DC Bus Tour.
We will be going on the 5:00 PM bus. Bus leaves at 5:00 PM. Buy your tickets ASAP for
$34.95 (internet savings of $5.00) each to guarantee a spot and make sure you order
for the September 29 5:00PM departure

- 7:30 PM: Upon our return to Union Station, join us at Uno Chicago Pizza Restaurant in the mezzanine of
Union Station. (Cost: $26 per person including tax and tip - cash/credit accepted)
- Sunday
- 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM: Farewell
Brunch, our good friend Ethel Batten will be
speaking at the brunch. Beacon Bar & Grill, 1615 Rhode Island Ave N.W. (Cost: ~$32/person - cash only).
Located near the corner of 17th Street and Rhode Island Avenue across the street from HRC.
Easiest way to get there is to frankly walk down south on
17th Street in you are in the area. If taking Metro, take the Blue/Orange line stop to
Farragut West and walk up north on 17th Street. Attire...come comfortable....nothing super
fancy.

- All bars and restaurants in DC are smoke free.
- Pickup your METRO WEEKLY and Washington Blade from the street boxes for information on
the bars, restaurants and entertainment options.
We need you to commit to attending. Oh, and of course, spousal units,
girl & boy friends, children or whoever, are welcome as well. So make your plans to be
D.C.
We are not going to have an official hotel, so you can stay wherever you want. Suggestions
are included in the Hotel section below. Keep in mind that the 2007 Out & Equal
Workplace Summit will also be taking place September 27-29 at the Hilton Washington in
Washington D.C.
